Mission

The mission of it Ivory Cross is the promotion of oral health aimed at the individual, the collective and at environmental factors, through prevention.

The starting points are:

• Prevention of oral diseases is learning a healthy lifestyle that prevents oral and dental diseases.
• A healthy environment, which challenges the choice for a healthy mouth, is promoted.
• The burden of disease is reduced in part by encouraging participation in curative and preventive care.
• Protection of oral health is partly achieved through early identification of risk behavior and oral and dental diseases among the population and age groups.
• We collaborate on a scientific basis with all relevant sectors and partners in and outside the health care sector.
• The Ivory Cross identifies and puts situations on the agenda that are undesirable for proper prevention and stimulates social support for preventive oral care for vulnerable groups.

Vision

The Ivoren Kruis realizes its mission and ambition by advocating for, stimulating and facilitating research, policy, communication, networks and functional partnerships. The association functions as a knowledge centre, bundles knowledge and experience data and translates this into advice and interventions for practice.

Ambition

To raise oral health in the Netherlands to such a high level that a healthy mouth and perfect teeth are within reach for every resident from an early age and into old age.
