Oral health education for young asylum seekers in Rotterdam
On July 2, student members of the Ivory Cross, together with dentist Semra Genc of Tandarts West, provided information about oral health to young asylum seekers aged 2 to 17. For the youngest children, their parents received brushing advice. A valuable initiative, made possible in part by the Mano foundation, which is committed to children and young people in Rotterdam.
After the event, participants received a bag containing information materials, a toothbrush and toothpaste – with thanks to Colgate for providing these materials.
The Ivory Cross, the Dutch Association for Oral Health, was founded on March 1, 1910 and has since become a household name in the fight for a healthy mouth. For more than 115 years, the association has been committed to preventing oral diseases and improving general oral health.
The Ivory Cross is on the one hand a patient organization, which is committed to society, regardless of whether they have already been affected by oral diseases or are at risk. On the other hand, it is a scientific association for oral care professionals who make a crucial contribution to prevention and treatment.
