'Better dental care for youth through a subscription fee?'

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the autumn conference 2020 could not take place in physical form. Instead, the Ivoren Cross organized a webinar discussion that was followed by more than 450 interested people. In the webinar, opinions were gauged about a statement made by the Ivory Cross:

“If the funding of oral care for young people is not based on performance but on annual subscription, this will benefit the prevention of oral diseases.”

During the discussion it should not be about the 'rates' (after all, that's what the professional associations are for). What the Ivoren Cross is thinking about is that every oral care professional receives a fixed amount per year per child as compensation for the efforts of the oral care professional to keep a 0-18 year old healthy.

The following speakers spoke:

  • Onno Hofman, chairman Ivoren Kruis
  • Laurens Tinsel, advising dentist Health Insurers Netherlands
  • Henk van Gerven, Member of Parliament SP & general practitioner
  • Huub Bots, practicing dentist in Leeuwarden
  • Dagmar Else Slot, Professor of Prevention in Oral Care

The discussion was chaired by Wrister Grommers, rector of the Montessori Lyceum Amsterdam. The webinar discussion can be viewed here (You Tube)
