Speakers in the spotlight
Review of developments in fluoride advice
Em. Prof. Dr. Cor van Loveren
During this presentation, Cor van Loveren will take us through the history of the National Fluoride Advice, which was established fifty years ago under the leadership of the Ivory Cross. He will discuss the scientific developments and adjustments that repeatedly led to revision of the advice. This has led to a unique and flexible fluoride advice that meets individual needs and differs from other European advice.

Guideline: removing incentive for independent thinking or anchor for protocol-based work?
Onno Hofman
As a participant in the development of guidelines (youth and tooth wear), chief visitor at KNMT and member of SGIM, Onno Hofman likes to talk to the audience about how to deal with guidelines in, for example, the patient file and what happens if this is not done. What is the role of the health insurer?

The practice of the dental hygienist through the years.
Ellen Bol
Ellen Bol has been a dental hygienist since 1978 and a Bachelor of Health since 2009. She started as a recently graduated dental hygienist in youth dental care, via the general practice to an independent practice in 1986, with the last step in addition to her practice from 2010 onwards as the position of director at NVM dental hygienists. Ellen Bol has been retired since 1 February, but she remains active in oral care and can talk enthusiastically about 'The practice of the dental hygienist through the years'.

Keynote lecture 1: Significant caries reduction in 2-year-olds through home visits shortly after birth.
Keynote lecture 2: Differences is Saliva of high vs low risk caries patients.
Prof. Dr. Rodrigo A. Giacaman Sarah
As an internationally recognized expert in cariology, Rodrigo Giacaman will address Sarah during his keynote
lecture will discuss the significant reduction of caries in two-year-olds by means of
home visits shortly after birth. He also presents his unique research results on the differences in saliva between patients with a high and low risk of caries. His innovative insights offer valuable perspectives for the prevention and treatment of caries.

Oral care in community nursing: Case report on a client with diabetes and an unhealthy mouth
Owl of der Schaaf
As a community nurse, Uilkje van der Schaaf discusses a case where an unexplained blood sugar disorder led to a surprising discovery. By taking a broader look at the client's overall health, an underlying cause was found that was previously overlooked. These insights led to a targeted intervention with a positive effect on both well-being and diabetes regulation.

Isn't science just an opinion?
Dr. Wil van der Sanden
In this presentation, Wil van der Sanden lets us take a critical look at 'what do we know, what do we really know and what do we really think we know'. In a world where science is increasingly dismissed as 'that's just an opinion', explaining what and why all that research adds is becoming increasingly important. Wil van der Sanden has had a colourful path as a dentist and is currently a board member of various dental associations, among other things, and works as a director of education at the dentistry program of Radboudumc.

GigaGaaf-to-go!, research and implementation in Flevoland
Annemarie Schuller and Helma Ario Soeriowardojo
Starting early with good oral care ensures that children have fewer cavities later in life. You want this too, don't you? Together we can make this happen! Annemarie Schuller has been working as a researcher at TNO Child Health in Leiden since 2000 and has also been a senior lecturer at CTM in Groningen since 2013. Annemarie's heart lies with prevention and public dental health. She is therefore happy to tell you something about the completed project GigaGaaf! on which Ashley Verlinden will receive her doctorate in 2024. But much more important is: what now? Helma Ario Soeriowardojo is a dental prevention employee at GGD Flevoland and talks about the implementation in Flevoland.
