Unfortunately, there are cases where things don&#039;t go well. A well-functioning and independent complaints system has been set up for this purpose. Know that the Ivory Cross has been advocating good oral health, especially through prevention, for over 100 years. We want to eradicate caries from the world and prevention is an indispensable link in this,&quot; says Onno Hofman, enthusiastic chairman of the Ivory Cross.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the past, great strides were made in oral health. We have recently noticed that the oral health of many Dutch people of all ages is not doing well. This includes children under the age of 5, adolescents and adults. More and more adults are dropping out because oral care is becoming less accessible and affordable. Good oral care is also essential for the elderly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe train oral care providers to work from a well-thought-out prevention method -Gewoon Gaaf- at our Prevention Academy. More than 400 oral care practices are therefore known as a Gewoon Gaaf practice and there will be more\u201d. Because many oral care providers do pay attention to prevention, based on the paradigm &#039;The best filling is no filling&#039;, as Hans Prakken points out, treasurer of the Ivory Cross.<\/p>\n<p>A healthy mouth is very important for overall health. Dentists and dental hygienists cannot do it alone. It is important to look at health rather than illness. Integrated solutions are needed up to and including the reorientation of healthcare. The Ivoren Kruis would like to achieve this by setting up an independent broad committee that can advise politicians on integrated solutions in the field of health care, and therefore also on improving oral health.<\/p>\n<p><em>Het Ivoren Kruis (1910) is a scientific association of dentists, dental hygienists and other oral care providers.
